Llandysul
On the Teifi lays the small quaint town of Llandysul in Ceredigion.
The main street is lined with small interesting shops, many of which will take you back to the bygone years of rural Wales.
The heart of Llandysul is the river, where the foaming rapids attract many canoeists throughout the year. Llandysul Paddlers is the ideal place to visit if you're a beginner or an enthusiastic canoeist.
We are right on the river Teifi with some of the best fishing in Wales and have many small fisheries nearby. There is lots of local knowledge available on site and help and advice given if required.

The town of Llandysul lies in the heartland of the Welsh woolen mill country, with Rock Mills Woolen and Water Mill in nearby Capel Dewi. Visit one of the last traditional mills where the whole process from fleece to fabric may be viewed. The machinery is still powered by a water wheel, which also drives a small alternator providing the lighting. The mill produces bedspreads, blankets, rugs, table mats and fabrics from pure new wool. Products are on sale in the Mill Shop.
If you are interested in finding out more about local history visit The Ceredigion Museum at Llandysul County Library, where you'll find a small display area upstairs for local history exhibitions.
Farmyard Nurseries is also a popular stop for many visitors and locals, offering a wide selection of plants and trees for your garden. It's a delightful place to visit for a stroll around, even if you do not want to buy anything.
For those who fancy a round of golf on your holiday, Cwmrhydneuadd Golf Course and Saron Golf Course are nearby offering challenging nine hole courses in picturesque settings. Equipment hire is available if you require. |
